Privacy policy

In short

BossMahjong has no accounts and no login. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or payment details to play.

Google Analytics runs only if it is switched on for this site and you accept it. See below for details.

Data stored on your device

The site stores your theme choice in your browser's local storage (localStorage) on your device. The games store points, best times and game settings (language, tile labels, theme and locked-tile marking) in the same place. There is no account and no copy on a server. If you clear your browser data or use private browsing, this data is lost.

This data is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings, under site data.

Technical data when a page opens

As with most websites, our hosting provider's servers receive technical data when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page opened. This data is used to deliver pages and keep the site secure.

Google Analytics

When it is switched on, we use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google LLC, to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are viewed, rough location (city or region), the device and browser, and how long the site is used.

Google Analytics stays off until you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you choose Decline analytics, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Your choice is saved in this browser on this device, and you can change it at any time through the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, analytics stays off whatever you choose.

We do not use the advertising features of Google Analytics. We also don't send names, email addresses or account data to Google, because BossMahjong has no accounts. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, but Google may process the IP address briefly to work out a rough location.

Google may process this data on servers outside Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, including in the United States. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can decline analytics, or take back your consent, at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and still play every game. To ask for access to, correction of or deletion of data relating to you, see "Your requests and questions" below.

Children

BossMahjong is intended for players aged 13 and over. The casino-format games (Roulette, Blackjack, Video Poker and Pai Gow) and Mahjong RNG are intended for players aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will be updated too.

Your requests and questions

To ask for access to, correction of or deletion of data relating to you, or to ask a privacy question, email hey@bossmahjong.io.

We hold very little. Your points, settings and choices are stored only in your own browser, and you can delete them yourself by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

If analytics is switched on and you accepted it, we cannot tell which analytics data is yours without the identifier in the _ga cookie stored in your browser. For a request about analytics data, you can include that identifier in your email.
